Date: May 16, 2020
The 12th annual BDCH Foundation Run with the Nurses 5K is set for Saturday, May 16. All community members are invited to join this run/walk in honor of nurses, with registration fees used to benefit the BDCH Foundation’s Health Careers Fund.
The run/walk, held rain or shine, will begin at 8 a.m. near the front entrance of the hospital at 707 S. University Avenue in Beaver Dam. After meandering through the nearby residential area, the 5-kilometer /3.2-mile course loops back to the finish line at the front of the hospital near the pond, where participants can enjoy the park-like grounds and complimentary refreshments.
Everyone is welcome to participate, regardless of age or physical condition. Strollers and wheelchairs will be allowed, but bikes, roller blades, “heelies,” skateboards and pets are prohibited.
Before April 25, the cost to enter the race, which includes a race tech shirt and timing chips, is $30 for adults or $15 for children 14 and under. After April 25, the adult cost is $35. You may sign up the day of the race, with registration beginning at 7 a.m. Race tech shirts for day-of-race registrants will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Awards will be given to the top overall male and female finishers and to the team with the largest number of members.
