Featured Business People Against A Violent Environment (PAVE)
PAVE provides services for victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault across Dodge County. We had humble beginnings as a volunteer organization that answered crisis calls during the late 1970s. We incorporated in 1981, opened a small office in 1982 and took over 200 crisis calls in the first six months. During the 1980s PAVE grew and continued to hire staff. In 1990 the shelter, originally called Samaritan House, opened its doors. PAVE currently has 10 staff members that run the agency 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Last year, we took over 5000 crisis calls, served nearly 600 individual victims and provided prevention education to over 3250 individuals in our community.![]() Our mission is "Empowering those affected by violence". We do this through a variety of programs, including a 24 bed shelter, 24 hour crisis line, case management services, support groups, children's services and groups, family nights, emergency transportation, legal advocacy, sexual assault support, advocacy at SANE exams, community education and prevention programs like Dating Smart, Hands for Peace and Healthy Relationships presented at areas schools and Shaken Baby Syndrome training most often provided to daycare facilities and community partnerships including our SART (Sexual Assault Response Team) and our DART (Domestic Abuse Response Team) where we work with other service providers (law enforcement, district attorney's office, hospitals, probation and parole and others) to effectively collaborate services for victims. We are happy to answer any questions you may have regarding our work. Please consider visiting our website www.peopleagainstaviolentenvironment.com to learn more about how you can help.
